Raising Funds to Fuel the Fight for Muscle Health

Join me in supporting the Muscular Dystrophy Association's mission to fight muscle disease. Together, we are progress! In 2014 I ran the Chicago Marathon through their lottery. I took on the commitment in 2015 to train towards Muscular Dystrophy Association and finishing to honor my brother, who suffers from this illness. This further instilled in me why I took on this challenge for the Chicago Marathon and The Dallas Marathon in 2015. Throughout my training with Team Momentum I am blessed with the opportunity to meet and train with others that have family members and friends whose lives have also been effected by muscle disease. I am reminded of the simple things I take for granted like walking, breathing, running, smiling and laughing. All these things are effected or essentially become impossible for someone living with muscle disease. In 2016, I have taken on the commitment again to raise money and awearness for The Muscular Dystrophy Association with four races;

The Chicago Spring Half Marathon

The Rock 'n' Roll San Diego Half Marathon

The Bank of America Chicago Marathon

The Dallas Marathon

As a member of MDA Team Momentum, I am progress. I'm training to complete a marathon/half-marathon every month of this year, and I'm making my miles count, bringing help and hope to more than 1 million Americans living with muscle disease. I have completed a total of 15 half marathons and 5 full marathons in the last 4 years. In San Diego 2015 I my firstsub 2 hour half Marathon and at the Run for the Zoo I PR'ED with a 1 hour 45 minute half marathon. My next race is going to be The First Energy Akron Half Marathon on September 24th.

  • $100 support group session
  • $150 physical therapy consultation at MDA clinic
  • $500 annual repairs of wheelchair or other equipment
  • $800 week at MDA summer camp for one child

With every step I take, I'm advancing MDA's mission to assist families with health care services and day-to-day support, fund research breakthroughs worldwide, and fight back against dozens of life-threatening muscle diseases.

Please join me! Sponsor my effort with a donation - and be sure to find out if your employer offers a matching gift program; it could make your gift go twice as far. Leave the legwork to me, and together we'll move toward a future in which muscle health, not muscle disease, prevails.

UPDATE:This year I decided to take on the Chicago Spring 13.1 and The Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Through my 13.1 efforts I raised $847 and have a goal to raise a total of $5000 by the end of September. Please consider making a donation to support me in my efforts to reaching this goal
