Welcome to my Muscle Walk Personal Fundraising page!

We would have never been here if it wasn't for our drive and mission to cure these awful diseases. So, please be proud of yourselves for helping with the Muscle Walk! I'm proud of all of the teams, their hard work and dedication to MDA and to all of us that live with Neromuscular genetic conditions.

I'd like to share my story -- I'd like to talk about a boy whose parents were once told that their son wouldn't be like everyone else. The boy was 7 and at his age, he was told very few things about what he had. He didn't really understand, although the boy's parents knew exactly what he had. They were heartbroken – and they wept when they heard his diagnosis was Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy -- The most progressive form of muscular dystrophy, and death would most likely come quicker than age 25.

So years went by, and the boy walked for a while with a lot of falls. And soon, he couldn't walk at all, so he crawled. He thought nothing of it and went on with his new means of transport. In the farm house where he lived, his family built a ramp. He would crawl toward the door, open it and crawl out and see all of the beautiful animals including the dogs and the cats. He smiled and would sit with cats and dogs. He never stood above them like the rest -- but with them. The boy was content, but as he grew, he lost the ability to crawl and was wheelchair bound.

As he grew into a man, he broke 3 bones. He has a metal pin in his leg, has had back surgery where they put a metal rod in his back and has had pneumonia. He was down 80 pounds and finally had a mental break down. But, he had a strong way of bouncing back. His body was frail but his mind was tough. Soon, he wasn't shy like before.  He knew he had to be strong for MDA because he wanted a better life for those kids that suffer from exactly what he went though.

I was that boy…now a man! I came to tell everyone that there's HOPE.  Hope we will discover the cure. All across the United States, people are Making a Muscle. We are all Making a Difference and we are all united right now to end all Muscular Afflictions!

We are united. I believe in MDA and seeing all of you gives me strength. I'm standing with my heart and soon, with hope and determination, we'll walk again. And the future will be brighter.

Thank you so much for being part of my life all of you and MDA! You’ve planted a seed of hope in my heart!

Help me cross the Muscle Walk finish line and FINISH STRONG!  Join me at the Muscle Walk and we’ll have a great time for a great cause. Better yet, make a donation today, and help me reach my fundraising goal to help support the families who depend on MDA. Together, we grow stronger.
