I'm excited about the MDA Muscle Walk.

Logan's Story -

In April of 2012, my brother Brian and his wife Constance received the news that their only son Logan was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) at the age of 5. For those unfamiliar with this disease, DMD is a terminal illness with no known cure that affects one in every 3,500 boys. DMD is caused by a deficiency of the dystrophin protein in the muscles, which slowly progresses over time.  On average, boys with DMD are robbed of their ability to walk by age ten, and most are lucky to ever reach their late twenties.

We walk because no child should have to live a shortened life with no hope for a cure.

Although this disease has now drastically changed their family, they aren't going to let it progress without a fight. But it takes more than just their family to fight this horrible disease. Last year, the Muscular Dystrophy Association spent millions of dollars across research projects aimed at finding a cure for over 43 neuromuscular diseases - but the funding can't go on without donations from people who care and from those whose lives have been touched by a neuromuscular disease.

We walk for those who cannot.

Friends - let me be perfectly honest - the science behind a cure is here.  The only thing between them and saving their son's life is money.  2013 turned out to be an amazing year for medical advances in a cure for DMD, but it costs millions of dollars each year to conduct clinical trials for each possible cure scientists have discovered.

We walk because truly living means doing something that someone can never repay you for.

Please help us find a cure and save their son's life.  ANY amount you can donate helps fund a cure for DMD and goes directly to funding research, sending a child to MDA summer camp, or assisting families like us who are dealing with a neuromuscular disease.

Help me cross the Muscle Walk finish line and FINISH STRONG!  Make a donation today, and help me reach my fundraising goal to help support the families who depend on MDA.

Together, we grow stronger.
