I have now been working at the MDA for a year. And to say that this year has made a difference in my life would be an understatement. There aren't enough words to explain what the last year has taught me and given me.
I choose this event personally to particpate in and fundraise for because it is the one event all year that we can include every single client of ours and the community. I walk for Ben (pictured) because he lost a brother in this fight, but he and his family have never lost hope and still keeps going every day. Ben dreams of being a baseball player. I walk for Bryce, a boy who is the most inspirational person I have met in my life to date. Who despite all the odds of a sever form of muscle disease, stays positive and has given me more laughs than most people I have met in my life. I walk for him because he would love nothing more than to be able to do just that, walk. He dreams of being a basketball player. Being able to just walk is something we all take for granted. I walk for so many parents, children, adults all facing this battle every day and for having the strength to keep going.
If you can, please make a donation to help the thousands of adults and children living with muscle disease. It doesn't matter if you have $10 or $100 to give, it all goes to helping give these families HOPE, hope through research and summer camp and specialized clinics. And YOU can be a part of that hope!
It only takes ONE muscle to help, YOUR HEART
