Help Me Win the Muscle Walk
I need your help. This coming Saturday is the annual Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Muscle Walk. The MDA is close to the hearts of the Savage family. Years ago, my wife, Julie, was diagnosed with Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy (LGMD). This is a rare disease and there is currently no cure. It affects various of Julie's and others muscles, making them weaker over time.
We have been intimately involved with the MDA for quite some time and it has been one of the most inspiring experiences of my life. We have met dozens (if not hundreds) of folks who suffer from all different types of muscular dystrophy - some types quite severe and other types less so. We have volunteered at numerous MDA events, attended conferences and traveled around the country to see dedicated doctors, loving parents and inspiring young children bind together to support each other and find a cure for this disease. At the most recent annual conference we attended, we saw two brothers (both diagnosed with MD) demonstrate a form of karate they had learned, despite their physical challanges, and break a board in half! It's this conqueiring spirit that I have seen in the lives of Julie and others who live with this disease every day. Despite this challenge, we feel very lucky to be able to experience this community of people that we otherwise probably would not know as well.
This Saturday, I will be walking around the Oakland Coliseum for as long as I possibly can to raise money for the MDA. If you would like to donate to a great cause, please follow the link in this email and donate to our muscle walk team ("Team Savage") to support the MDA. Every dollar helps! Obviously, no pressure to donate, but if you would like to, this is a cause I really believe in. There are only four days left to donate!
Thank you all!
Help me cross the Muscle Walk finish line and FINISH STRONG! Join me at the Muscle Walk and we?ll have a great time for a great cause. Better yet, make a donation today, and help me reach my fundraising goal to help support the families who depend on MDA. Together, we grow stronger.
