I'm pumped up about the MDA Muscle Walk.

One word that comes to my mind when I think of my little sister is Fighter. As kids, even though she may not have been able to run away fast enough if she instigated a fight with one of us, she always had her fighting methods that left scars. She new how to fight and never backed down. Julie has carried that spirit with her her whole life. It wasn't until she was 17 years old and a Junior in High School, that her then doctor had a hunch that she had MD. After multiple testing, it was confirmed that she had Limb Girdle MD.
The fighter in her kicked in and although the news was difficult to accept at first, she forged ahead. The fighter in her has come out when rude comments or assumptions have been made. When she decided to brave the cold, icy winters of Rexburg, ID for college, she did it with confidence. Having children was taxing on her body, but as scary and physically challenging as it was for her, she did it. What I absolutely love and admire about my sister is how she has always found a way to make things work, even when it seemed impossible. And she never plays the victim.
Although my sister has suffered broken bones, a concussion, and countless painful falls, she always comes back with full force and an unbeatable spirit. So, I want people to know the person that I am walking for. I want people to know the fighter that she is and support this cause and donate. Her physical obstacles are almost unbearable to handle sometimes, but she never ceases to amaze me with the things that she accomplishes.
