I'm pumped up about the MDA Muscle Walk.
Welcome to my Muscle Walk Personal Fundraising page!
Hi y'all thanks for stopping by my Personal Fundraising Page.
I keep getting asked why are we participating in the MDA Muscle Walk. Well here is why:
In 2008 I was diagnosed with Charcotte Marie Tooth Syndrome or CMT. Growing up I always had leg pains but I never thought anything about it because I played sports and I was used to hurting some after games and practice. But in 2008 I started feeling numbness in my feet and started to notice my toes on my right foot were curling under. CMT can affect everyone differently. For me I have constant leg and calf pain and tightness, also fatigue is a big issue. I used to be able to do so much more and not be tired, but even cleaning the house can wipe me out. I have had to have the tendons on the toes of my right foot cut so my toes won't curl under anymore. And more recently I am dealing with knee pain and have started to use an AFO (Ankle Foot Orthodic).
But not only do I have CMT but my youngest son was lucky enough to get CMT from me. He is doing great and and is a normal 6 year old now, but he does visit the MDA Clinic at Dell Children's every year for annual check ups. He is the reason I am walking.
MDA does so many great things for those of us with MD and any money we raise is put to great use. You would be surprised how much some of the testing costs, not to mention Doctor Appointments, MRI's and x-rays. Your donation could help find a cure for CMT and many other forms of MD.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my page and if you have any questions for me please feel free to email me!
