I'm pumped up about the MDA Muscle Walk.

Welcome to my Muscle Walk Personal Fundraising page!

Logan's Story -

In April of 2012, our son and daughter-in-law received the worst news you can possibly hear as a parent - our grandson Logan was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at the age of 5. For those unfamiliar with this disease, Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a terminal illness with no known cure that affects one in every 3,600 boys. Muscular dystrophy is caused by a deficiency of the dystrophin protein in the muscles, which slowly progresses over time. Dystrophin is what prevents our muscles from being destroyed by everyday use.  On average, boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy are robbed of their ability to walk by age ten, and most are lucky to ever reach their late twenties.

Although this disease has now drastically changed our family, we aren't going to let it progress without a fight. But it takes more than just our family to fight this horrible disease. Last year, the Muscular Dystrophy Association spent almost 95 million dollars across research projects aimed at finding a cure for over 43 neuromuscular diseases. 2012 proved to be an unprecedented year in positive results towards a cure for muscular dystrophy - but the funding can't go on without donations from people who care and from those whose lives have been touched by a neuromuscular disease.

No child should have to live a shortened life with no hope for a cure.

Help us cross the Muscle Walk finish line and FINISH STRONG!  Join us at the Muscle Walk at the Mall of America Twin Cities and we'll have a great time for a great cause. Better yet, make a donation today, and help us reach our fundraising goal of $500.00 to help support the families who depend on MDA and our precious Logan. Together, we grow stronger.

Thank You,

Ed & Joyce Gullickson
