We are starting a little earlier this year to get the word out about the Muscular Dystrophy Association walk in March. We are forming a team to walk for a great cause and hope that JR will be there heading up the team!
As many of you know the MDA means a lot for many people; research, equipment, social support and camp. We remember when camp was the first time JR spent the night away from home and his parents. His favorite things to do were hockey, paintball and the costume contest. After everything JR has been through so far, we have to come to realize how much more important camp was and is to JR. It was a place for him to get prepared for his spinal fusion discussing with his camp buddies what it will be like before and after the operation. The three things JR asked when he was well enough to be awake was 1. What happened and am I going to make it? 2. Will I miss my Junior year of school? 3. Will I make it to camp?!!! This year’s walk means much more than it ever has in the past.
Please help us cross the finish line and FINISH STRONG together as a team. Please sign up if you would like to be on the team and walk with us. The walk is Saturday, March 8th @ 8am @ the Mall Of America. You can also make a donation today, and help us reach our fundraising goal to support all the families who depend on MDA. Together, we grow stronger.
JR has designed another T-shirt this year and we will be handing these out to everyone making a donation. We hope to have them by the middle of February ;-)
