I started this team (Bolducs Believe) for my nephew, Justin. He was recently diagnosed with DMD. This devastating news came to us at the end of this summer. Justin was born in October of 2009 and he was perfect.  He started to grow and develop into his little personality. Always scratching our heads and saying hmm, is he  just developmentally behind? He went to birth-to-three program where he had therapy to develop his gross motor skills and he improved. In August, Justin went to Children's Medical to get checked out and to see what might be going on. Justin was quickly diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.  The puzzle pieces finally all fell into place. Justin was diagnosed early with DMD, it is usually not discovered until children are about 5/6 years old. He is able to get 3 extra years of therapy, that some little boys miss out on. Justin has a family who is committed and dedicated to helping him succeed in his journey with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. His support team is dedicated to giving him a fun, exciting and memorable childhood! He will take the road that is less traveled by others but his road in life will be just as wonderful if not better than the others, because he's not alone in his journey, he has a train of people following him, cheering him on and BELIEVING that one day there will be a CURE! Together as a family, we hope to raise money to support research to help in finding a treatment for DMD. One day, we believe there will be a medical cure for DMD.
