Please Help Team Tina support Muscular Dystrophy Association's Binghamton Muscle Walk While Spreading Spinal Muscular Atrophy Awareness!!!

Welcome to my Muscle Walk Personal Fundraising page!

My name is Tina and I am 25 years old!!! I would like to tell you a little bit about myself and my cause for joining the Muscular Dystrophy Association's (M.D.A) Binghamton Muscle Walk. I was born with a genetic disorder called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (S.M.A) which, makes things physically harder for me to accomplish. S.M.A is a form of Muscular Dystrophy. Spinal Muscular Atrophy is basically a slow deterioration of all of the muscles in the body. However, the brain is NOT affected by S.M.A. Overcoming difficulties and obsticles throughout life, due to my disability, has made me the compassionate and understanding person that I am today!! I have 2 older brothers, one that has Spinal Muscular Atrophy like me and another that does not. I steadily achieved A's and B's throughout school and was in Advanced Math classes throughout Middle School and High School. I graduated from Windsor Central High School in 2007 with a normal diploma!! I have been with an amazing and loving man named Jeffery Cardew since I was 18 years old. We got married on July 30, 2011. I love him more and more each day and cannot imagine my life without him in it. In the beginning of 2012, I created a Page on Facebook called Disability Support Group which can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/DisabilitySupportGroup. I created and run Disability Support Group by myself!! I started it to help the less fortunate when I can, to spread awareness for as many different disabilities as possible, and mostly just to offer an online support system for the disabled and their loved ones. I would really like to help organize different handicap accessible activities and events in my area. Working on my Page has helped me learn and understand more about those with different kinds of disabilities. I am participating in the M.D.A Muscle Walk because I want to do something meaningful this year!! Team Tina in support of Muscular Dystrophy Association's (M.D.A) Binghamton Muscle Walk is trying to reach our fundraising goal for Muscular Dystrophy and we need YOUR help and support!!! We thank EVERYONE who makes a donation as well as those who join us at the Binghamton Muscle Walk. I hope you will join my team whether it is for walking, donating, and/or campaigning for donations!!!

Sincerely, Tina Cardew
