I'm participating in the MDA Muscle Walk and I need your help!
I am walking in the MDA Muscle Walk again this year in honor of my father, Donald Wagar.
Several years ago my father was diagnosed with Friedreich's Ataxia, a disease that affects the muscles and the heart. Since his diagnosis, his health has declined and is doing so lately at a more rapid rate. he has almost no use of his legs, he is losing the use of his hands, his speech is becoming a problem and he has a hard time eating. And while all this is going on his heart is enlarging from his illness. For a man who always lived an active lifestyle, he was a soccer player whose nickname was "The Mighty Toe" and he was was also an avid runner, this has been a life altering experience.
Raising money for the MDA gives me hope that they will someday find a cure and prevent others from suffering from this and other diseases.
