Please join us in supporting the Muscular Dystrophy Association in their 2018 fundraising campaign at the Pittsburgh Zoo on Sunday, May 20, 2018. We have supported this cause for many years and always appreciate your dedication and devotion to helping us continue to fund research projects, help local families with support for medical equipment and sending kids to CAMP!!!
Jonas and Aiden have attended camp since 2010. It is the highlight of their summer. They have met countless friends and wonderful counselors that they remain in contact with.
Please know that beyond camp and research the MDA supports families financially (without income guidelines) assisting in paying for the cost of expensive medical equipment. They have been an invaluable resource for our family for years and we cannot thank our MDA family enough for the support that they have given to us.
For anyone who does not know, Jonas and Aiden have a muscular dystrophy called Charcot, Marie, Tooth Disease. It is more commonly known as CMT and is named for the three doctors who discovered it. It is actually not very rare, but early onset is. It is a peripheral neuropathy meaning that affects their hands and feet (mainly from the elbows out and knees down). If you are fortunate enough to know either of our boys, you will know that they do not let this slow them down for a minute. They have adapted to and overcome so many things. We couldn't be more proud.
Thank you again for joining us, your love, support and donations!
Jen, Mike, Jonas & Aiden
