Welcome to My Personal Fundraising Page!
As a member of MDA Team Momentum and as Executive Director of the Boston MDA Office, I’m dedicating my miles, muscles and personal finish line to helping kids and adults living with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases live longer and grow stronger.
As MANY of you know, and you know who you are, I have knocked on your door, shook your trees and asked you to go above and beyond for causes I advocate and raise money for, especially for Logan and his fight with diabetes. This time, I'm going to take a new approach. MDA is where I started my career back in 1998 and I returned last year in MUCH better shape than I was when I left back in 2003 and I'm confident I can properly train, take on and tackle an event like this. I have done many endurance events, such as Century Rides, smaller triathlons (I hate swimming) and many half marathons, but the mighty marathon has always eluded me. This is a bucket list race for me and being such a history buff and a political monster, painstakingly running 26.2 miles won't seem so bad running past all of the monuments that tell of our country's history and what makes us great.
You know the drill by now people and this is where you come in. Your donation will help save and improve the lives of individuals with muscular dystrophy and the families who love them. Thanks in part to MDA Team Momentum participants and donors, MDA anticipates more new treatments in development during the next five years than in the previous five decades combined. Let’s keep and build this momentum. I am not a stranger to neuromuscular disease either and I'm sure you are not as well. My Godfather lived with Myasthenia Gravis, my brother-in-law's mother passed away from ALS, as did the husband of a good friend of mine at just 41 years old. Sadly, most, if not all of those I knew when my career started have lost their fight with this horrible disease. 26.2 is a crapload of miles, but from what some of our families go through each and every day, it's the least I can do to help make a difference!
Please consider making a donation to support me in my upcoming race today.
Thank you in advance for your support!
