You may remember that last October I ran the Marine Corps Marathon with Team Momentum to honor my cousin, Lauren, and to raise Money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Lauren was diagnosed with Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy (DM) in 2011after a string of curious incidents left her wondering, “is there something wrong with me?”.
As a member of Team Momentum, I dedicated my miles and muscles to help kids and adults living with muscular dystrophy to live longer and grow stronger. And I couldn't have done it without you! Together we raised $4,557 and helped to fund groundbreaking research to accelerate treatments and cures and provide care and support for families who are counting on us. In fact, the Team Momentum Marine Corps team raised $96,100 for this one event!
Welllll...I enjoyed it so much I decided to go back for more! This year I'll be running the Chicago Marathon, again to honor my cousin who is living with Myotonic MD, and to raise money for MDA. And this is where I need your help...again!
Your donation will help save and improve the lives of individuals with muscular dystrophy and the families who love them. Thanks in part to MDA Team Momentum participants and donors, MDA anticipates more new treatments in development during the next five years than in the previous five decades combined.
Let's keep and build this momentum. Please consider making a donation to support me in my upcoming race today. Thank you in advance for your support!
