Welcome to my run for Ryan & Adam Moser page!
It may not be news to most of you, but I have two cousins who were diagnosed with Duchenne's muscular dystrophy at a young age. I'll be running the 2014 Chicago Marathon in memory of my cousin Ryan and for his brother Adam, who continues to live with muscular dystrophy.
There hasn't been a soccer game I've played, or a race I've prepared for, when I haven't thought of Ryan and Adam. Selfishly, I've used them as motivation to compete harder in whatever activity I happen to be participating in. I couldn't be more thrilled to join the MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) and Team Momentum at the Chicago Marathon in order to give back to my cousins!
As a member of MDA Team Momentum, I am progress. I'm training to break my full marathon personal record time of 3:25:14, and I'm making my miles count, remembering Ryan, and bringing help and hope to my cousin Adam and more than 1 million Americans living with muscle disease.
With every step I take, I'm advancing MDA's mission to assist families with health care services and day-to-day support, fund research breakthroughs worldwide, and fight back against dozens of life-threatening muscle diseases.
Please join me! Sponsor my effort with a donation - and be sure to find out if your employer offers a matching gift program; it could make your gift go twice as far. Leave the legwork to me, and together we'll move toward a future in which muscle health, not muscle disease, prevails.
Nothing but love!
