As you may have heard, I am running not one, but two marathons this year. After last year's Chicago Marathon, where we raised over $2,700 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, I decided to come back and do it again this year. However, I have elected to double the insanity this year by running both the Berlin Marathon and the New York City Marathon this fall.
In an effort to add meaning to my miles, I will be running the New York City Marathon with Team Momentum to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Since 2008 when Breanne joined the MDA in Fresno, California, we have seen the meaningful impact the MDA has on the families of those impacted by muscular dystrophy. While there are many causes to support, this is one that we have consistently supported over the years, and I am excited to have the opportunity to run on behalf of those that cannot in hopes to make a bit of difference in the race to find a cure.
I have set a goal to raise over $3,000 dollars this year as I train for the two marathons; however, that goal can only be accomplished with your support, and I am hoping to count on you to help make a difference. Any and all support is greatly appreciated - and you are an awesome person for doing so!
As a side note, the madness won't stop after the NYC Marathon. I have decided that I am going to continue to run until I have completed all 6 World Major Marathons. After NYC, I will have Tokyo, London, and Boston left on the list. Hopefully you can get a laugh from the madness and we can have some fun with the journey.
Thanks again for your support and encouragement - it means a lot of the MDA, and it means even more to me.
